PTC announced that LTM, a Larsen & Toubro business unit that manufactures equipment for the tire industry , has successfully leveraged Pro/ENGINEER® to expand its global business. By providing LTM with a winning CAD platform that reduces design cycle time and enhances product innovation, PTC has enabled LTM to effectively compete in a rapidly growing and competitive global tire manufacturing industry to an extent where today almost half of LTM’s revenue is from the export market.
PTC announced that Force Protection, Inc., a leading American designer, developer and manufacturer of ballistic and blast-protected vehicles used to support the armed forces, has standardised on PTC Windchill® as its platform for product development content and process management. With Windchill, a core component of the PTC® Product Development System, Force Protection will have the ability to increase process transparency and collaboration with its suppliers, partners and customers to drive faster product innovation in the ballistic vehicle space.
PTC announced that Spanish Inditex Group, a global player in the fashion industry with well-known brands like Zara, Pull & Bear, Massimo Dutti or Bershka, has deployed the PTC PLM solution Windchill in its store and furnishing design department based in Arteixo, Spain. Windchill will manage all information related to the building equipment, interior design and furnishing of stores worldwide. Inditex selected Windchill, to speed up the design process by configuring the stores from a predefined set of components and modules and to enhance the reliability of the manufacturing information sent to local providers.

The majority of its work with Pro/ENGINEER is injection moulds & automation machine design. When doing on-site contracts it often has to update and modify existing tools and machines to suit its client’s new manufacturing requirements. The portability of the Pro/Engineer license software is ‘key’ in enabling it to do this.
Paul Heatherington is Lead Designer at Burnside Autocyl (Tullow) Ltd., a manufacturer of hydraulic cylinders in Tullow, County Carlow, Ireland. The company implemented Pro/ENGINEER when making the move from 2D CAD to 3D CAD in 2005. Mr. Heatherington had used SolidWorks® 3D design software in college, but when tasked with selecting the 3D CAD solution for Burnside Autocyl, he immediately opted for Pro/ENGINEER after experiencing its powerful and rich functionality. Ease of use was also an important factor in the decision, so the migration from 2D could be handled with minimum training for Burnside employees.
