Increase collaborative engineering with Mathcad Prime 2.0

collaborative engineeringAs an engineer, you want to achieve a result. But, as part of this, you need to be able to share your results with your co-workers. Being able to communicate more effectively leads to better collaborative engineering. Luckily, the updates included in the latest Mathcad release make this much easier for you and your colleagues.

Organising ideas to improve collaborative engineering

Calculations in Mathcad can be complex. Part of the advantage of the software is that it can handle this information, but sometimes that level of detail can be too much for someone just after an overview of the results. This is where the new collapsible areas feature works to increase collaborative engineering.

It works by collapsing the parts of the Mathcad worksheet, which aren’t needed at the time, so they’re out of view. It means less confusion and distractions for people reviewing the results. Plus it also means results are better organised. Importantly, though, the details are still all there and can be recalled when needed.

Better integration with existing tools

But, it’s not just about being able to communicate your results to everyone else in your team. Mathcad Prime 2.0 now works with Microsoft Excel, to increase the integration between your tools. It is now possible to seamlessly integrate Excel with Mathcad Prime 2.0 worksheets, offering a cleaner, simpler experience for users

The key advantage is all to do with the layout. Now, any Excel spreadsheets opened within Mathcad all of the information is there in front of you. By using the Excel component of Mathcad, it will in fact open up an external Excel worksheet, which you can work on directly. Plus, all the modifications made in the external worksheet will also update your version within Mathcad
